Biography
He was devout and devoted to worship and asceticism to the extent that he was called 'the Monk of Quraysh'. He related from 'A'isha and Umm Salama. He was a faqih and hadith transmitter. He also did not give fatwa as Ibn al-Musayyab did. Traditions dominated his fiqh.
